Sometimes we’re too busy reading the scary headlines to see the real news: the global economy has turned a corner for the better this year, despite the uncertainty created by President Donald Trump; and Australia is officially the world champion of economic growth – 26 years without a recession and counting.

We’re not without challenges and we really should and could be doing better, but the opportunity is there to spread the growth of our new “two-speed” economy. Within that transition, the time has never been better for tourism to be recognised as the key economic driver that it has become.
