Shaun de Bruyn, Chief Executive Officer

Shaun comes to SATIC with 15 years of tourism experience and has a deep understanding of tourism and the important role SATIC plays within the industry. His background is diverse, including working in regions assisting operators; destination and experience development; marketing and distribution; government engagement; and strategic planning.

Emily Sharpe-Hall, Communications Coordinator

Emily is SATIC's Communications & Administrative Officer and supports three key areas of our operations: communications, administration and events. Emily comes to SATIC having completed a degree in Public Relations with a sub-major in Communication and Media Management. Throughout her three year degree, Emily has had various work experience opportunities within the communications and public relations sector, and has also assisted in the role of administration. The opportunity to study Public Relations and Events in Florence also enabled her to extend her knowledge towards communications and events, and further her passion towards the industry.

Roz Becker, Service Excellence Manager

Roz will deliver the operations of SATIC’s Service Excellence Capability Program, which will see the delivery of industry workshops and one-on-one coaching to assist business owners and their staff with developing their capabilities. She has had experience in tourism, government, not-for-profit and private sectors, working within sponsorship, management, marketing, events coordination and business. For over seven years, Roz worked in regions for the SA Tourism Commission and currently volunteers as Board Member and Acting Chairman on the Australasian Branch of Whale Dolphin Conservations. Having a creative flair, Roz is also currently undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Painting.

Joanna Chudy, Industry Programs Coordinator

Joanna is SATIC’s Industry Programs Coordinator, and is responsible for programs such as Tourism Accreditation and Tourism Awards, as well as providing support to the ServiceIQ team. Joanna joins SATIC having completed a double degree with a Bachelor of Tourism and Event Management and Bachelor of Business (Marketing). Through growing up in a household running a small business and previous employment in small businesses within the service industry, she is familiar with the challenges that small businesses can face.

Ilona Klomp, Membership & Sponsorship Manager

Ilona comes to SATIC with over ten years experience in Hotel Management and over five years experience with Memberships in Sporting Clubs. She is very passionate about tourism and South Australia and understands that nothing is more important than the relationships we build. Ilona has worked overseas and throughout Australia, including Canada, Japan, the Whitsunday Islands and Melbourne, and is very much looking forward to meeting and working with all members and partners of the SATIC community.

Abbey Buckham, Events Coordinator

Abbey is responsible for assisting with delivering SATIC's events, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Business specialising in Tourism and Event Management at the University of South Australia. She has been involved in the tourism industry for the past five years, currently working at a functions venue in various roles and has a great passion for travel. Her international experiences include solo travel across Europe accommodating with studying at the University of Cambridge and several months of volunteering as an outdoor coordinator in Canada. She has also undertaken a study tour to Singapore, Laos and Vietnam where she was a recipient of the New Colombo Plan Student Mobility Scholarship.
