Ward Tilbrook, Chief Executive
Ward has been involved in the tourism industry for more than 20 years. His experience includes operations, sales and marketing of Australian tourism product to strategic and senior management level in state, national and international markets. He has a wide range of experience from backpacking to the luxury accommodation sector, as well as the group-touring sector in Australia and the USA. Previously Ward was the Manager of the South Australian Tourism Accreditation Board, which focused on industry standards and quality assurance practices. Ward was a key player in forming the South Australian Tourism Industry Council in 2009.
Bianca Borrett, Manager Communications

Bianca is responsible for successfully planning and managing SATIC's communications and online communities, as well as having a special focus on media relations, advocacy and stakeholder engagement. Bianca comes to her role with more than 15 years experience in the industry, previously with the South Australian Tourism Commission, in a number of positions including Ministerial Liaison, Public Relations and as the South Australian Tourism Awards Manager. Bianca has also completed an Advanced Diploma of Tourism with TAFESA and a Bachelor of Management from the University of South Australia. She is also a SA Council Member for the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
Jayne Cooney, Industry Programs Coordinator

Jayne originally hails from the mid north of SA and has been involved in the tourism industry over the past 15 years. She studied at TAFESA and has an Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management. Jayne has worked for the SA Tourism Commission, based in North America, and on her return to Australia became a travel agent in country SA & Horsham, Victoria and has also been a destination specialist for Outback Encounter. Two gorgeous children have kept her busy for the last few years, but she has also assisted local businesses with their Tourism Awards submissions and tourism accreditation during this time.
Ursula Hickey, Manager Local Government Engagement
(Mon, Tues & Wed)
Ursula’s role is to specifically engage with, assist and support local government partners with their tourism offerings and to encourage greater awareness of what councils can offer in this area. As part of her role, Ursula will develop a range of training, event and networking opportunities specifically for local government councils wishing to grow visitation and investment. Having worked for many years within Local Government, Ursula has experience in developing initiatives that attract visitors and ratepayers to a local area and can work with councils to identify their strengths and assist them with the creation of destination plans.
Akarra Klingberg, Online and Communications Manager
Akarra is responsible for updating and providing ongoing improvements for SATIC's corporate (www.satic.com.au) and consumer (www.qualitytourismsouthaustralia.com.au) websites and working with industry in the online space. She also provides support for the Chief Executive, oversees our financial management and the SATIC Board. Akarra joined SATIC after living in Ireland and Germany and travelling extensively throughout Europe and the UK. Akarra completed a Bachelor of Cultural Tourism at Flinders University, SA.
Anneliese Powell, Manager Events
Anneliese is responsible for managing all of SATIC’s networking events, training and the state-wide tourism conference, Anneliese also coordinates the South Australian Tourism Awards which highlights the best tourism businesses in the State. Anneliese comes to SATIC having travelled throughout North America, UK and Europe working for inbound and outbound wholesalers in sales, marketing and product development. In her previous role with the Department of Health, Anneliese has experience in program management and the coordination of educational training for the SA Ambulance Service. Anneliese also has an Advanced Diploma of Tourism and a Bachelor of Management.
